 "Great Tool" 2010-02-07
By Lisa D. Hailey
I knew nothing about what my husband wanted in the way of a sawzall but what amp he wanted & that it was not to be battery operated. I found all the information I needed in the description of the tool & the picture you showed was exactly what i received in the mail! My husband was very happy with his birthday present, it has done everything he wanted. Thank you!

"Great saw for the price" 2010-01-11
By R. Greenlee (Denver, CO)
I had borrowed a friends recip saw once and was sold with the versatility of the tool so when I saw the good price on this saw and the positive reviews I pulled the trigger. I used it for the first time this weekend cutting down a wood privacy wall and cutting through some electrical conduit. It worked very well with both jobs and seemed to have enough power. My only complaint is that it only comes with one 6" wood blade. I had a buy a few more for what I needed.

 "Makes hard work easy" 2009-12-23
By Iron Man Jack (Brooklyn, NY)
I bought this saw because of the price and a job that I had put off because I figured it would take me at least an hour and would make a lot of noise. It had to do with cutting through 2 inch square steel tubing. Much to my surprise it took me about 15 minutes, mostly because it involved my familiarizing myself with the saw. I recommend it.

 "Missing a rafter hook" 2009-12-17
By MrHans (Chicago, Illinois!)
This sawszall rocks for ALL the reasons everyone has listed. It just does. Five full years on the warranty? Insane. What it is missing however is a rafter hook or "skyhook" so you dont have to risk dropping it. Other recip saw makers have implemented them, why not Milwaukee? I've been trying to figure out how to adapt one to it but cant figure out how to do it without cutting into any of the cast parts. Gonna try and rig something up during some down time. Has anyone done this succesfully?

 "Solid Tool" 2009-12-05
By GKJ (New Jersey)
Received this as a gift last year and never really used it. This summer I re-laid the large deck on our house and this was the ideal tool for slicing old 14' deck planks down to managable size prior to lifting. Nails are no issue - The unit is very powerful but the power comes in slowly as the trigger is pulled so it never gets out of hand. The saw never missed a beat during the 2 month project and I use it often now for other demolition jobs and cutting metals.

Great tool.

The Hatchet was built for tight spaces. Milwaukee has once again taken reciprocating saws to a new level with this tool. The Hatchet features a six position pivoting handle, making it the most compact, unique, reciprocating saw on the market. Only 13-1/2in. when fully pivoted, the Hatchet easily fits between 16in. on center studs and between rafters and joists. This tool is designed to get into those confined areas that no other saw can reach! The Quik-Lok blade clamp makes changing blades fast and easy. Its also counter balanced for smoother operation and less vibration. USA.  "Gary Hoyt" 2010-02-12

Milwaukee needs to change the operators switch. It causes finger fatigue after periods of use. Should be longer and be able to be gripped/operated with ALL fingers not just one/two.

 "Milwaukee hatchet recip saw" 2007-07-03
By S. Kunnen (Seattle, Wa)
Great saw, a must have recip saw. It does everything well, it is small, light, and powerful. Sure it can not cut the big beams, like its bigger brother but it does everything else better. If you need the big saw buy both saws and use this one 95% of the time

 "Yeah but" 2007-04-06
By There's still time (San Francisco, CA USA)
Please don't get me wrong, I thought this the cat's meow when I first started using it; however, within a day I found that it tends to overheat if used extensively. It doesn't shut down due to the heat, but becomes difficult to hold with two hands. It also vibrates quite a bit, which encourages blisters. I still enjoy the product. But selectively. So, if you're just working around the house, don't want the bigger one, or need to get into a particularly tight spot, then go for it. It's my second choice though, behind the standard 11 amp. I need durability, power, and forgiveness, not something that's going to jump all over, or heat my hand when I need to grab the body.

 "One hand Wonder!" 2006-08-26
By S. King (Southeast USA)
The greatest thing about this saw is that it can be held with one hand, like a drill. It is better to use two hands, but there are some cuts where it helps to have a hand on the item being cut. Because this is a mid-size saw with a folding handle, it is manageable with one hand in those circumstances. I bought this saw for the folding handle, and because I wanted the Milwaukee blade clamp (my Porter Cable clamp broke in five minutes). I was worried that it may not have the power or cutting action I needed, but that has not been the case. I have cut nearly everything with it, and most of the time am using the longest of woodcutting blades for thick wood, and it has never let me down. I am sure that a larger saw with a longer stroke would cut faster on some things, but if you have smaller needs as well and want only one saw, this one is just right. The orbital action is not as aggressive as some other brands, but that is not a concern to me. It is a pleasure to use every time, and the blade clamp works flawlessly.

 "Good tool" 2006-03-30
By B. Andersen
The hatchet is up to milwaukee's usual standards and is of excellent build quality. I see this reciprocating saw as being for someone who only needs it for small to medium jobs. Right now I have been using the saw for a demo project on a commercial building and my only complaint would be that saws gets extremely hot after long uses. Black handle grip gets hot enough to burn hands when used for long periods under heavy hand pressure and therefore gloves are needed. Even with gloves many breaks are needed as the saw even burns my hands while wearing gloves. Because of this heat problem I gave this tool four stars, but otherwise I would definitely recommend this tool to a DIY type person or someone who needs a sawzall occaisionally.
