"Powerfull drill, chuck has a problem!" 2010-09-23
By William J. Blesener (Houston, TX)
I love this drill! As a 12Volt drill, it is very powerfull. I just got thru upgrading my home-built desktop computer stand. New pc would not fit in it! I made it 3 1/8" taller and added a 120mm fan (117VAC) for coolng too. I used the drill to remove the top of the stand, cut a 3 3/4" hole for the fan and the mouting holes. I added 2 X 6" rails to get more height. Then, I reassembled it! Drill works great! Batteries charges up fast! But, there was a problem with the chuck getting loose A LOT! Sometimes the drill bit would even fall out! Good drill, you might rethink the chuck though! WB

Not much to add to previous reviews. Drill has lots of torque, battery holds charge very well. I use as a household tool, its strong enough and tough enough for commercial applications.

Our crew likes Dewalt Drill Drivers, but this one had a failed chuck within a day of receipt. Not a fan of Dewalt. One the plus side, Amazon was very responsive and had a new one shipped on same day that I contacted them.

"Powerful drill in a small package" 2010-07-05
By C. Alarcon (Vancouver, BC, CAN)
My old, no name 24V drill gave up his battery a while ago, barely making a short use after 12 hours of charging. I got this beauty using a gift card from a well known hardware store. I was not sure what kind of drill I needed. I am the on and off weekend handyman at home and one thing that I knew is that I wanted something light yet poweful. My wrists and my neck knew quite well already how bad it is to hold a 24V beast while trying to drill accurately on a horizontal surface while keeping balance on the friggin' ladder. So, I saw this baby on the display area, I held it and noticed how incredibly light it felt. I said, this is it. Well priced, way more torque that my crappy 24V behemot and, best of all, no more sore wrists and arms afterwards. My drill come true.

 "Milwaukee 2410-22 M12 12-Volt 3/8-Inch Drill Driver" 2010-07-12
By Greg Koshak (Larsen, WI USA)
Finally, a powerful, yet small enough tool to use. Most of the time access to the work is a much bigger problem than power in a drill/driver. If power is the only issue, I can use my 1/2 Inch hole shooter plugged into the grid. The batteries charge quickly and last under heavy use. Haven't had the tool long enough to know the longevity. Charger works quickly. Case is good for protecting the tool and make it easy to carry around. This tool is small enough to eliminate hand driving of most screws in small spaces.

I'd give it a 5 except that it could be improved by providing a off switch for the LED light, and if it didn't look so ugly.

By James Rhodes (St. Louis)
Even though I got this at Home Depot instead of Amazon (sorry, Amazon) this is a great tool and I think is destined to become one of my favorites. The size is right and it is quite powerful for a small drill. I needed it to drill some holes in a rather confined space and this worked well.

I bought the Milwaukee drill and the driver because of the reviews and i liked the compact design. Worked great and the charge lasts a long time. I used these tools twice before the clutch broke in the driver. returned the broken driver and replaced it with the Dewalt 18V Ion and love it so far!

 "Perfect pocket drill" 2010-02-17
By Thor Albro (Seattle, WA United States)
After delighting in my decision to buy a big Milwaukee hammer drill recently, I decided to buy one of these for my wife to use with her property management company - it is light and small enough to literaly fit in her purse. Of course, I have used it exclusively since!

I just got back from a job screwing dozens of 2 1/2" #12 screws through mutliple boards. This little thing handled the job without a hick-up. The power enclosed in the tiny, egg-sized batteries is phenomenal. And, as with the bigger tool, the spacious case is a delight for holding all sorts of extra stuff. Bravo to Milwaukee for all the little touches that make these drills a joy to use.

 "Hitachi DS12DVF3 12-Volt" 2010-02-25
By Gary D. Conner (Richmond, Va.)
Ok drill for puttering around the house and that's about it. I purchased it because my 12-volt Pany's batteries were dying. I love Amazon and have purchased many hand and power tools over the years from them but this purchase was from Lowe's. They had it on sale for $59. I check the power tool prices on Amazon, nightly, but it appears there are no deals to be had anymore there! In my opinion, if their price is not at least 60% off, it is not a good deal and you can find it cheaper somewhere else. This is more of a review for Amazon than the Hitachi drill as you can tell! I love shopping there, but for some reason, the prices aren't competitive anymore. Yeah! You might be able to grab something, on occasion, but that's about it. Check your local prices before you buy! Hello Amazon! Home Depot and Lowe's are now matching or selling many of your items cheaper! Comments are welcome!

I am very pleased with this kit. The smaller size of the drill is particularly handy and yet is has plenty of power for the jobs I have used it for. The light was very useful during a recent power failure. Overall, well worth the price.

 "Dangerous" 2010-02-05
By C. Ulrich (Aspen, CO USA)
I work on Microwave Stations. I take care of my tools exceptionally well; I don't drop them, mistreat them or abuse them. A spare can quite often be 1200 feet below and the effort needed to achieve work position necessitates the minimum load during tower acsention. The problem with Hitachi drill is the way the battery is locked in the place. Two very small tabs along side the batteries break very easy during insertion. The broken tabs allow the battery to fall loose from the tool endangering anyone or anything beneath the work area, be it 3 feet or 1200 feet. Anything impacted by the falling battery is subject to injury or damage. The tool works very well and is comfortable but be cautious.

"WEARS OUT QUICKLY AND INTERNAL PART REPLACEMENTS ARE NOT AVAILABLE." 2010-03-11
By K.C. (San Diego, California)
I bought one of these about 3 years ago. I've only used it a couple of times. Now, I find that it has difficulty opening and closing using the automatic feature because the internal motor and drive belt are worn. I was told by the authorized service center for Black and Decker that internal replacement parts are not available for this product. I expected a wrench that cost $25 to last a lot longer especially with the light use.

The reason I was attracted to this product is that the automatic feature seemed to make it a lot easier when having to continuously remove and re-attach the wrench to a nut in order to continue turning it. However, there a better solution to this problem. Sears now has an adjustable wrench that has a ratchet feature. With this feature you do not have to remove the wrench from the nut to continue turning it.

 "Waste of money" 2010-02-22
By Roger in Virginia (VA)
I have this tool but never use it. The switch to open or close it is in a bad place, just when you get ready to use it you accidently open the wrench as the switch is easily pushed. It also does not grip tight at all. It is useless in my opinion and a total waste of money. It looked like a good idea but isn't.

I own this wrench and it is a waste of money. It runs off of AAA batteries that can't even power the jaws back and forth without assistance. You might as well spend the money this thing costs on a good wrench and save yourself the headache.

 "E blade Wear Performance" 2010-02-17
By Steven F. Thomson (Groveport Ohio)
I currently use the E blade on many unusual tasks during a Victorian restoration. I'm thankful for the use but at the price of the replacement blades it should be told that these do not wear well. Oak studs, large spike nails or the old antique square nail will wear down the blade fast. Multi tool usage although handy is expensive when replacing blades so often.

These are great for cutting into 2x4 studs, since they can cut both metal and wood. With all of the remodeling that I am doing, I can't live without these blades. They get those hidden nails and make removing small or rotten sections of wood easy.

Product works well with the Fein. Basically it is a hacksaw blade. I use it because currently it is the only bi-metal blade available for cuttting metal (i.e. nails, metal studs, wire, ...). These blades are very expensive and will hopefully go down inprice when the patent expires and there are other bi-metal blades available.
