"Can't keep it aligned while cutting" 2010-06-26
By T. J. Peterson (Florida, USA)
I purchased this after I bought my saw; love the saw but this laser is junk. I had no problems mounting it and it turns on okay but it's very difficult to align and once you start cutting it moves out of alignment. I plan on taking my saw with the laser mounted to the Dewalt service center 20 minutes away to see if they can get it aligned properly where it will stay or possibly replace it. I've had it too long to get my money back. Most of my power tools are Dewalt and I'm very surprised that this is basically worthless.

 "Worthless" 2010-04-07
By Bobby43 (California)
About 90% of all my tools are Dewalt, so needless to say I'm a pretty big fan... But this laser is straight junk... Very hard to adjust and it doesn't stay true... Also you laser line will move as you are coming down to cut your material... To bad I can't at least use it as a coat hanger... Don't waste your money...

 "DeWalt Laser" 2010-02-08
By Sarah E. Boylan-gore
I wanted to get my husband the laser for his new DeWalt saw. The box stores were 3x the price. After calling DeWalt, directly, they confirmed the DW7187 was the correct laser. It is great and works wonderfully.

 "Never Stays Accurate" 2009-11-10
By El Cucuy (Mexifornia)
This thing needs to be adjusted EVERY TIME you move you saw. They specifically put the allen wrench on the top so you can adjust it all the time. It's also hard to get this thing right where you want it. Once you do, the screws are so loose they will fall out if you leave it that way. I wish I could use this thing all the time, but it's basically just a guide to have an idea where the saw will cut and not an accurate mark to go by. Usually it's left turned off because it makes it hard to see the actual pencil mark.

 "Don't waste your money!" 2009-07-12
By Marcelo C. (California, USA)
I wish I would have read more of the reviews before I purchased my laser from the local home improvement center. As previously stated the laser projection is too thick, you need to recalibrate it just about every time you change the angle, definitely every time you pick it up or move it, and now that I have it set up in my shop it seems as if just about once or twice a week I recalibrate it. I have gone so far as to just leave it off and eye ball the cut, tried and true method!

It really is a shame that this product isn't as great as it should be. I thought I just had a defective unit, but no, it really sucks!

I wanted to try the IRWIN laser that mounts directly to the blade shaft, although after speaking with a friend I heard that one is just as good as this one.

Save your money. Use your eyes!

"OK, not as good as a std crescent wrench" 2010-02-19
By D. C. Clark (Fairfax, VA USA)
See other reviews - this wrench is too hard to adjust. Takes at least two, maybe three hands to hold everything, adjust, and lock. If it were redesigned to allow a thumb adjust and a finger lock, it would be a winner.

Also, remember that this is a box-end style wrench. Not every bolt or nut can be loosened with it. You'll still need a good old crescent style wrench in the toolbag. So then, you may well ask why you need it...

"Neat Design, but not as neat funcionally" 2010-02-14
By Dave - Free as Can Be (Franklin, TN)
This wrench is a new angle of an ajustible wrench that has been around for years. The HK1 is designed to fit a nut or bolt by sliding a center piece of the wrench within the formed 3 sided body of the fixed wrench side to add a fourth side that pushes tight against the open side of the wrench. In other words, this wrench will tightly grip a normal six sided bolt or nut by at least 4 sides making a tight fit to tighten or loosen a bolt or nut. I ordered one of these because it looked neat and appeared to be a modern solution to tightening or loosening a bolt/nut. This wrench is not as convienient or as fuctional as a normal adjustible wrench. And, because the sliding action within the wrench that makes up the fourth side is quite stiff, I rate this wrench with 2 stars because it is not as functional as the regular Craftsman or Crescent adjustable wrench. If the sliding part of the wrench worked more smoothly and lightly, I would rate it 1 star higher. Sometimes I get suckered into believing a new design would be superior to the old. This is one of those times. It is just a neat looking idea that does not serve its purpose as well as the simple and cheaper adjustable wrenches on the market. Even though it does not work well in practice, it is still a neat looking tool.

 "OK for emergencies" 2010-02-13
By William Ayres (Albuquerque, NM USA)
This wrench seems to work OK but is a little hare to adjust. There is an opening at each end, one for larger nuts and one for smaller. You have to stick your finger into the one you are not using and slide the center bar into place by pushing it. It would be difficult for someone with big hands. I wouldn't buy another one

"Nifty gadget, little tricky to use" 2010-01-09
By B. Farnsworth (Cleveland, OH United States)
A little tricky to adjust, the locking knob is small and is somewhat difficult to manipulate. Also, you may have trouble moving the post if you have very large fingers. But an interesting tool anyway.
