"Powerfull drill, chuck has a problem!" 2010-09-23
By William J. Blesener (Houston, TX)
I love this drill! As a 12Volt drill, it is very powerfull. I just got thru upgrading my home-built desktop computer stand. New pc would not fit in it! I made it 3 1/8" taller and added a 120mm fan (117VAC) for coolng too. I used the drill to remove the top of the stand, cut a 3 3/4" hole for the fan and the mouting holes. I added 2 X 6" rails to get more height. Then, I reassembled it! Drill works great! Batteries charges up fast! But, there was a problem with the chuck getting loose A LOT! Sometimes the drill bit would even fall out! Good drill, you might rethink the chuck though! WB

Not much to add to previous reviews. Drill has lots of torque, battery holds charge very well. I use as a household tool, its strong enough and tough enough for commercial applications.

Our crew likes Dewalt Drill Drivers, but this one had a failed chuck within a day of receipt. Not a fan of Dewalt. One the plus side, Amazon was very responsive and had a new one shipped on same day that I contacted them.

"Powerful drill in a small package" 2010-07-05
By C. Alarcon (Vancouver, BC, CAN)
My old, no name 24V drill gave up his battery a while ago, barely making a short use after 12 hours of charging. I got this beauty using a gift card from a well known hardware store. I was not sure what kind of drill I needed. I am the on and off weekend handyman at home and one thing that I knew is that I wanted something light yet poweful. My wrists and my neck knew quite well already how bad it is to hold a 24V beast while trying to drill accurately on a horizontal surface while keeping balance on the friggin' ladder. So, I saw this baby on the display area, I held it and noticed how incredibly light it felt. I said, this is it. Well priced, way more torque that my crappy 24V behemot and, best of all, no more sore wrists and arms afterwards. My drill come true.

 "Great Product" 2010-07-26
By JKJ
Bought one of these through Amazon (refurbished), and have had it for several months. It does exactly what it's supposed to do, and does it very well. It is great for blowing off the patio and driveway, and getting rid of leaves that find their way into the garage. Some reviewers have commented that two batteries are needed or desirable for this product; I have found that not to be true, even though the one I bought came with two batteries. When one is low, I just recharge it, and keep on going. Definitely a product I would recommend for light duty blowing.

this sure has come in handy! We use it to clean out the garage, the deck and the front porch! It works great for blowing the grass clippings off the walkways and driveway. Can't wait to try it out on the leaves this fall!

 "I LOVE IT" 2010-07-16
By Marian Mandy (Albuquerque, NM)
My husband surprised me with this sweeper after I complained about how quickly leaves accumulated on our driveway and walkways whenever he was out of town, giving the appearance of an empty home. It's lightweight, turns on with just a flip of a switch, has sufficient blow power and the charge lasts about 10 minutes, which is just enough time to blow off our driveway, walkway and sidewalks of our shaded, corner lot. I absolutely love it!

"great for the wood worker!!!" 2010-07-06
By S. Schisler
I'm a hobbiest woodworker. After a few hours in the shop, planing, jointing, cutting, routing and sanding; dust is everywhere and on everything. I do what I can with dust collection efforts but because my workshop doubles as a garage and at the end of the day I have to be able to pull a car in, I don't have the room for a dedicated dust collection system. In the past I had resigned myself to wipping down everything in the garage at the end of the day, then sweeping everything into one area and finishing with the shop vac. Needless to say this is time consuming and not something I look forward to doing. Those days are a thing of the past. I bought this blower at my local lowes store. Setup was a breeze. slide on two nozzle pieces, slide in the battery and your up and running. The item is light weight and quiet. Does not require hearing protection. I put away my tools and then break out this machine. Now, instead of wipping down everything in the shop I just run the blower over them. The stream of air is strong enough to move small pieces of scrap wood out of the garage and into one spot so I don't have to bend over a dozen times from one side of the shop to the other. Sawdust can be blown right out into the yard for good composting. What took me close to an hour to do with a broom and shop vac now takes about 5 minutes with this blower. Also this unit will operate with any of the 18 volt batteries from B&D so I just use whatever juice is left in the batteries I was working with for that day. This blower will eat some battery power pretty quick thou. The air stream starts to get pretty weak if you go longer than 10 to 15 minutes on a fresh battery. So if your in a situation like me where you don't need cat 5 hurricane force winds to do your job and your job doesn't require a lot of time, then this blower is perfect. Anything that allows me another 45 minutes of woodworking time instead of cleaning time gets 5 stars from me.

 "cheap- short life span" 2010-03-25
By T. Finnigan
This 7.2V cordless drill crapped out in less than 2 years. Notice anything in the packaging about batteries? I had to remove 8 screws to disassemble the whole drill. There are what looks like 6 little round NI-CD 4/5sc1000 batteries. I've spent 20 minutes and I'm not finding replacements -not even on the Black & Decker site. This is my 2nd "cordless" product. I do not like them. The 1st one they discontinued the battery! With an electric drill I grab an extension cord and go to work. Now I have a small project & I'm screwing around trying to find replacement rechargeable batteries. And if I do find them, you can bet they'll be at least 1/2 the price of what the darn drill cost to begin with. Convenient? Not unless you use it everyday & keep it charged. I have to wait & charge the thing every time I use it. Cordless is not for me anymore! Regards, Tim

 "Great Little Drill" 2010-03-04
By tvtv3 (Sorento, IL United States)
I received this BLACK & DECKER 7.2-VOLT CORDLESS DRILL for Christmas. I've been looking for a cordless drill for about nine months and had been looking at drills that were a bit larger and more powerful. However, even though this drill isn't quite what I was looking for, it's an exceptional drill. It has two speeds (325 & 650 rpm), can go in reverse, and the chuck is keyless. It's a very easy drill to use and is fairly light weight. The battery pack is built inside the drill and in order to charge it, you have to plug the charger into a socket on the drill. I've used this drill several times since receiving it and have not had any problems. In fact, the only criticism I have is that the drill doesn't include any drill bits or heads; you have to purchase a set of drill bits and heads separately. Overall, this is a great drill for someone who is a novice to beginning home repair type person. It'll also do a job for more experience handymen who are in the pinch.

"Top Heavy - but works great" 2010-01-21
By D. SIMON (New England)
This drill is fine except for the fact that it won't stand up - it topples right over. Obviously the person who designed this never thought of the convenience of a drill that can stand on a counter without toppling off. Works great, price is right but remember that you have to lay this drill on its side or you are going to quickly hear a crash!

The drill works fine and is worth the price. Being a chuckless drill, the bit is harder to tighten securely by hand for me than with a chuck, however.

"I screewed up and bought a tool without a battery and had to buy one. I got lucky and found this rebuilt one." 2010-01-30
By Stephen S. Connaway (wichita, ks. usa)
this milwaukee 4811-2401 12v rechargable lithium-ion battery was used and refurbished like new. i am thrilled with it. i paid about an eighth of the cost of a new one, and it proforms better than the other new one i bought with my second drill-driver. What Ever You Do Don't Buy Any Of These Tools Without Batteries. The bateries cost more than the drill/drivers. By the time you buy a drill/driver, charger, and a battery you'll have close to four hundred dollars invested in what i think should be a fifty dollar tool.

I bought this battery to replace a failed one only months after buying this cordless drill, and still under warranty no less !!. It is a perfect factory match and incredibly less expensive than buying the same battery from the Milwaukee web site. The new battery charged right up and works fine. Highly recommend going this route to replace Milwaukee batteries.

These batteries are pretty good for run time in a warmer envirnment. Find that when they are used in the cold they wear down fast. I have 11 of these batteries because I have 5 of the tools. Sorry to say the quality is not that great. Two of them are already dead ( less than one year ). I have several DeWalt lithium batteries that are over two years old and still going strong!!

"Battery life a big disappointment" 2009-12-22
By K. Chrisman
I bought a 12v drill with 2 batteries less than a year ago. I used the drill maybe a total of 30 times in the last year and the batteries will not charge any more. I get the red and green flashes on the charger. I have a Ryobi kit that I use multiple times a week that is 2 years old and it still works fine. I also have a Bosch drill that I have had for 6 yrs and the batteries are still fine. I liked the drill but I am really dissapointed in the batteries.

 "Expensive+Weak+poor battery life" 2010-03-12
By DI (los angeles, ca)
I always check reviews before I buy a product and I was surprised to buy this dewalt drill only to find out that it's weak, with poor battery life and rather expensive for what it can do. From the very few runs with it, the drill pilot started getting worn out. What I did like about it was that it was light and easy to handle. Also when you tighten the drill bits you hear an audible clip when it's secure. My suggestion is that before you buy it, check it out. If you want to do light work around the house, get a cheaper brand. If you want a heavy duty sturdy cordless drill - you will be disappointed.

We've had this drill for over 2 years now. No issues. Hours of homeowner use rehabbing an old house. Dropped countless times. This thing still charges excellent, the battery lasts and lasts. Comes with 2 batteries, so one charges while the other is in use. I think (this is not scientifically proven, but) it charges faster than it discharges. Charges in less than an hour. Highly Recommended.
