This is truly a product that fits its price range. Its cheap, and does not come with any frills or features. But, it works, and is very easy to set up. For the price, its a great buy.

EXCEPT one thing. For our testing I found it annoying there was no setting to take a measurement, just a button that had to continuously be pressed for it to read RPMs. We ended up taping the button down, which worked well enough. Of course, I should have known this before I bought it.

Good product for what you pay

 "Great for the price" 2010-05-24
By Eagle Aye
I've had this for about 8 months and use it on a weekly basis to blow leaves and grass clippings. The blower arrived in great condition with no visible damage, etc. that I've read about purchasing re-conditioned tools. It takes approx. 5 pulls to get it started, then warms up quickly and ready to go. I've not had any problems with the tubing coming off as others have mentioned. I used the vac 1x which made quick work of picking up the leaves. It has a plastic blade with a metel piece to help with the rough stuff. Overall, for weekend use, I am happy with this purchase.

 "a nightmare" 2010-05-18
By Anthony B. Buividas
I always thought that Ryobi was a good product.

However, I didn't know that their stuff is reconditioned.

I took a chance and purchased a gas blower from them.

You could tell it was reconditioned. Items packed loosely in the box.

Didn't look too bad. Filled it up with recommended fuel mix. Followed all instructions on priming, etc.

Took at least 10 pulls to start it. I figured 1st time would be a little harder for gas to get up into system.

Did it again the next day, and the next. Same problem.

Then I tried it again and pull start cord came out, but would not retract. Totally useless at this time.

I sent it back for a credit on my account.

I spoke with a person who does lawn work who had similar problems. He had to send his back 2 times before he got one that worked. I couldn't be bothered.

Rather get another brand which is brand new. No more recons for me.

 "Excellent Value" 2010-05-15
By G. Kroth (North Carolina USA)
I received this and had it assembled in a jiffy. It starts easily and does a decent job for a 24 cc engine.

CONS: It was running lean at high speeds out of the box. The fuel mixture adjustments are readily accessable BUT, THEY CANNOT BE ADJUSTED EASILY!!!

(EPA STRIKES AGAIN!!)

After attempts with several tools, I was able to turn the high speed adjusting screw. If I have to do any more adjustments, i will cut slots in the adjustment screw heads with a Dremel tool.

After adjustment was done, it ran great. Too bad it was not adjusted properly at the factory.

I didn't buy this for the vacuum feature as vacuuming is VERY tedious. It is a good product selling point but that's it, in my opinion. Furthermore, if you vacuum up stones or other hard objects, you would likely break the blower impeller.

 "This thing sucks" 2010-05-13
By Jerad P. Hyde
I just got the ryobi blower in and boy was it a waste of my time even opening the package. the thing started on the first 3 pulls and everything else went downhill. Pushed the trigger and heard some rattle then the rattle got loader and the darn thing stopped. Would not start after that. The unit looked like it had been thrown in a gravel pit but i understand it is reconditioned but not to have it run is unforgiveable. called customer service and they said mail it back and they will refund my money. I guess we will see about that. Well going to Home depot to get an echo like i should have done in the first place. Dont waste your time or money on this POS.

"good enough, worth the price" 2008-10-22
By D. Schulte
These are replacement paper filter bags for a vacume cleaner used to clean computers, printers and copiers. Since laser toner and printer toner can be hazardous to breathe, it is important that the dust is collected and not allowed to float around.

These bags are not quite as good as the original that came with the vacume, but they are good enough for our situation. They are certainly a good value for the price, so I would buy them again.

"Great addition to any home toolset" 2010-04-14
By Sylvette (North Bay Area, CA)
First a bit about my setup and other tools.

I originally bought a Makita Drill complete with 2 small batteries and a charger.

I then bought a circular saw and realized after purchase that it requires the larger batteries.

Unlike some reviewers I did not remove the tag from the smaller battery to make it fit. Instead I bought a pair of replacement batteries. As a result I can confirm the following for those who wonder:

- the smaller batteries do not fit in the tools requiring a larger (18v) battery.

- the larger 18v battery does fit in tools that use the smaller battery.

- the charger works for all the battery types.

- it takes as long to run a battery down as it does to charge one, so have 2 batteries of each type.

Now about this tool.

Simply put, it is awesome. I have used it to:

- cut small and large tree roots in the muddy ground

- cut the plastic pot away from a thorny plant that could not easily be removed from the pot.

- cut down small trees

- prune off branches to make them fit better in the disposal bin

- hack off half of a faucet i could not remove otherwise from the sink

- hack off the grocery store's anti-theft seal from a bottle of Tequila

(if you self-checkout make sure to remember to ask the attendant to remove it before leaving the store)

- trim rolls of turf that were too wide for the section of yard I placed them in

- tear down walls

I have used several blades some named brand and some generic. All have installed and worked fine.

The only issue I have encountered is with the lock on blade guard. It was not clear which button position "lock" was. Its simple enough to check manually tho.

"Good luck if your battery fails" 2010-05-04
By Leslie T. Dove (Sacramento, CA, US)
I was drilling a half inch hole in a 4x4 when the battery quit. Could not get the bit out. Took battery out, went to charger and got spare battery, no problem. Shows fully charged on charger. Put battery in, and it is totally dead. Put previous battery in charger and let it charge. Took an hour off of work, but got bit out and continued on. Drill is less than a year old. Batteries have been charged about three or four times. Called Milwaukee and they gave me the phone number for a service center. Went to service center expecting to get a replacement under guarantee. Battery had to be sent to Memphis, Tennessee because Milwaukee makes the service centers buy the replacements. What a joke. I thought I bought an American made and owned Drill. Batteries are made in Korea and assembled in China! Milwaukee is not the brand it used to be, in my opinion.

By Joseph Bobst (Central Illinois)
Purchased as an upgrade for the NiCd powered drill. No downside to this change at all, in fact, the trusty Milwaukee 18V drill seems to run a trifle faster and keeps working for days on end before recharge is needed. This will replace multiple NiCd's that were rebuilt a time or two and are getting old and tired. The recharge could be fast enough in practical use so that an extra may not be needed or a while.

I for one can tell you these batteries WILL NOT LAST in cold weather. We set out on jobs in cold weather, and by cold I mean 30degrees, these batteries died in 1/8 the normal time they do. This cold weather statement is a flat out lie. now in warmenr temps you cannot beat them, they run all day. We've been using milwaukee tools for 3 years now and they ROCK, but please PLEASE don't belive the cold weather hype

"Powerful & Long Lasting, But Make Sure This is the One You Need" 2009-12-17
By John T. Horner (Morgan Hill, CA USA)
Earlier this year Milwaukee completely revamped their 18V Lithium-Ion tool lineup and changed how the battery packs fit. This is the older style which is also compatible with older Milwaukee 18V tools that originally came with Ni-Cad batteries. I have had two of these packs for about a year now and they are both still working very well. Keep your eyes open, because there are some amazing clearance deals around on the old generation Milwaukee 18V tools. Over the past year I've gotten the circular saw, hammer drill, vacuum, Sawzall and a flashlight all at less than 25% of the original street prices.

 "Compact and great!" 2010-03-06
By Coolio (Piedmont NC)
I have been in the finish carpentry business for years now and use all types of cordless tools. I bought this cordless set to replace my Bosch Impactor driver. I have always been a big fan of Milwaukee tools, both corded and cordless, that being said, I am not married to one particular brand. These drivers are not meant to be used for heavy duty work, but are rugged enough for continuous all day use. These tools are very durable and reliable. I use them several times a day on every thing from small deck and trim screws to self tapping and machine screws. The impact driver is for the medium jobs, like short deck screws and self tappers. The screw or subcompact driver can be used to remove and replace smaller screws but not much else. If you are looking to build a deck or run 3 inch screws with this set you will be very disappointed. However, if you are looking to drive 1 1/2 inch deck screws, self tapping tech screws, or replace door hinge screws, these are the perfect tools! I love them! No one company has a lock on the market for cordless pocket tools, but with the many other tools Milwaukee makes that take the same batteries and the price that Amazon sells these kits for, its hard to find a better deal!

 "Great product" 2010-05-14
By Michael Pascucci (Boston, MA USA)
Made the trip with me around Australia keeping my netbook, iphone, and camera battery charged on the go. I mainly used the AC jack, but occasionally hooked up the iphone directly to the USB port when I needed to charge my camera battery at the same time. Was able to charge my netbook from 0% to 100% twice on a single charge of the Duracell Powersource Mobile 100. It was key in my travels, as I spent 2 weeks camping in the outback - no hostels, hotels, or electrical outlets. I just had my Australian rental car with a cigarette lighter / 12v jack, and I had no troubles with using that to charge the Powersource Mobile. For reference, I also had a Duracell Power Inverter that did not work in the Australian car (although it possibly could have been damaged prior to that).

My only complaint is that the "charge remaining" indicator is not very helpful. The battery LED flashes orange while charging, and then again when low (beeps for about 5 seconds before it dies completely). It remains green when on. Otherwise, there is no way to gauge if you have, say, 90% left or 10% left. Likewise, do I need to leave it plugged in for 30 minutes or 4 hours to have any useful charge?

 "Don't buy from [...]!!!" 2010-04-29
By Scott Chou (San Francisco, CA United States)
The $30 price tag turned out to be too good to be true. The unit arrived unused, factory sealed but the manufacturing date was Oct 2006! These kinds of batteries don't have that kind of shelf life. The internal batteries are now dead and won't take a charge. I suppose [...] grabbed some kind of surplus inventory in order to offer this deal. Having said that, the product itself might have rated highly back in 2006. I'm sorry for dragging down its average rating here on the product page, but I see that [...] is the only supplier for this closeout special.

"Convenient Portable AC Power Plug" 2010-04-17
By D. Sauer (Ohio)
I wish this sort of device was more common. When you travel around, finding an outlet can be a bit of a hassle. Just for fun I did some experiments using 13 watt compact fluorescent lights. On a single full charge, a 13 watt CFL will last well over an hour. 3 CFL's will last up to 20 minutes. My Cradlepoint CTR-350 will deliver a whopping 4 hours when plugged into this device. My Eee however will overload it and cause the device to shut down. To fully charge from AC, you can expect 2 to 4 hours. Keep in mind that while it functions as an inverter when plugged into a car's cigarette lighter, it will function as an inverter while slowly charging itself. When plugged into AC, it will not function as an inverter, and will not power any device.

I have only one major complaint: The unit is sealed, and that means the battery is not replaceable. Mine still holds a pretty good charge, but once the battery starts to break down, the unit becomes disposable.

I ordered three when they were on sale and I have no complaints. They do exactly what they are advertised to do. I noticed a lot of people complaining about the date of manufacture being very old and they had problems. All three of mine were manufactured on 03/April/2008 and they all perform flawlessly. Can power my wifi webcam (5 watts) for a solid 6 hours and change.

Have yet to try running one while feeding it 12v from a car, but I do want to experiment with these and a solar panel. Would open up a lot of interesting usage scenarios.
