I tried to punch a little hole in a sheet of aluminum, but not only was unuseful, it broke the punch. I wouldn't recommend these punches. It works only in soft surfaces, like leather, rubber, etc.

These punches were not nearly as sharp as I expected them to be. Sturdy enough to whack with a hammer, but not sharp enough to cut easily through leather or other materials.

Punches excellent. Better than old Tandy Leather ones.



Minimal effort to cut through 1/4 inch belt leather.



Pouch good only to keep punches from rolling around in shipping box. This was reported in other reviews.



I wasn't buying a pouch, but the punches, so it wasn't a problem for me. I will make a leather roll up pouch.



If you want top grade sharp punches, it is a bargain. If a fancy carrying case is high priority, look elsewhere.

These punches are just what I needed. They are sharp and work well. The first time I used one I was hitting it like it was a nail, but it went through on the first hit so that wasn't necessary. That's how sharp they are. I am very satisfied with this item. The price is great also. I don't know why the other reviewers were worried about the plastic pouch. The punches came in a nice cardboard box so I threw the pouch away. If someone is worried about them rusting when they get wet, then don't let them get wet. Spray them with WD-40 and wipe them well. I got a great deal.

I bent the 1/16th punch tip just putting the cap back on the case. If you buy this set, buy a quality 1/16" brass punch. A drift pin starter punch for small sizes is a good idea also. The larger sizes should be fine.

I don't normally leave reviews, but felt I needed to on this one. I read all the reviews on this set, and decided for what I was going to use it for it would do the job. I used this to take my handgun apart, and when I used the smaller brass punches they snapped with ease. I also found that the punches were not up to par with the size it was supposed to be. The factory manual called for a 3/32" to remove a pin, but when I tried to use the punch supplied it wouldn't fit into the hole whatsoever. I ended up having to buy a punch set at a local hardware store. All in all you get what you pay for, and since it was only 5 bucks I wasn't going to fret over it.



Pros: For a cheap little punch set this will do the trick on small jobs that don't require too much force. The chrome punches are strong and seem to do fine.



Cons: The smaller brass punches break with little force, so be expecting it to break if you apply too much force. Some of the punch sizes are not to specifications, so they may not fit where they are supposed to fit. You can find a better set at a local hardware store for a few bucks more. Learn from my mistakes.

Received the punch set quickly and in great shape. Other than the mis-spelling on the label, it is a very nice set. The plastic case is a nice addition and keeps everything together. Quality appears fine but I have not used them yet.

The holes I made with this are indistinguishable from the original holes of my belts.

Works easy enough. You just need to squeeze hard if you have a thicker belt, but that's normal.

Great gadget, a must have.

The hole puncher works pretty well. Only negative is that it doesn't allow for much space for the belt between the puncher and the base. I have to squeeze the belt into the gap. Otherwise, can't complain.

The tool worked as designed however there is a fairly flimsy little piece of metal that holds the selected bit in place. After punching 1 hole in 4 or 5 belts the little metal piece broke rendering the tool useless.



Other than that "single point of failure" the tool is sturdy and very easy to use.
