"Should have got the leatherman" 2010-10-27

I recently lost my leatherman and was looking for a new multi-tool. The one I had was great and I never had any issues, but I left it on a job site. I went on to buy the same one and I noticed this one was the same price but had better reviews. I have never used the gerber multi-tool before and so far I am very disappointed. The slide out pliers, seem very cumbersome compared to the fold out. Also I don't like that I can't open the handle fully to use the screwdriver at angles or with extended reach. I'm not sure why this product got such great reviews, in all likely hood I will give it away and buy a leatherman again. I should have listened to the age old rule of "stick with what you know".

My boss has one version of this Gerber tool and I decided to get myself one. It arrived in good time. This Diesel Multi-Plier is a great tool. Sturdy and strong. If it had even more or even better tools built in then I would have rated it a 5. But, otherwise this tool is awesome.

Great replacement for the one I lost. The knife is sharp and cuts paracord with ease. The sissors made it though a piece of paracord on the 3rd snip. Great mulitool overall.

Great tool. Question to all out there..... does someone always have to wine about something. For example: "This tool is not as good as my grand pappys tools" "they should have designed it different with lazer beams attached, that would have made it better". Listen people, IT'S A MULTITOOL. Its not supposed to cut wood like a chain saw. Its not going to grip like a set of Klien needle nose pliers. And it not going to make you a cup of coffee in the morning. Its going to provide you a means to get a job done without hauling around a tool box.
Now that i am done with my rant. It really is a nice tool to have in a pinch. I would recommend it to any one in need of a multi tool on there belt.

Well first of all, when I received it, the package was crushed, box damaged beyond repair( it was a gift). I wouldn't recommend the black diesel, not a powder-coated finish. Knife blade was already used upon receiving it. Wouldn't recommend buying one from amazon.com ever again!!!!!!!!!!!!
